Welcome!

Thank you for coming to visit! After a few years down, a revised version of Nocturnal Light is coming back online. It is work in progress as all of the stories have to be re-added, but slowly and surely, all stories previously available on Nocturnal Light will once again be published here. Note that as some stories were very long, they were broken down into several posts. Use the tag for the story to find all associated posts!

Once Upon a Dream

Buffy storms to Spike’s crypt following his attempt to remove the chip. A heated encounter. Revelations are reached. Confessions are made. A vampire and a vampire slayer embark on a path less traveled together.

Rough and Tumble

Goes AU during Season 6’s All the Way. It’s Halloween, and Buffy is tired of lying to herself, especially in a world that has already killed her twice. She takes Spike up on his offer for patrol, embracing a celebration of the demon-dormant holiday that will forever change her life.

Steam

Giles, still unsure whether or not Spike is completely harmless, nominates Buffy to stand guard while the vampire showers.

Tempesta di Amore

While vacationing in Monte Carlo, a young Buffy Summers meets the notorious William de Winter, withdrawn and desolate still from the loss of his wife. When her employer threatens to leave Europe and head back for America, William offers Buffy the choice of leaving or marrying him—a proposal she cannot refuse. With a husband she barely knows, the young bride arrives at an immense estate, only to be drawn into the life of the first Mrs. de Winter, the beautiful Drusilla, dead but never forgotten…the suite of her rooms never touched, her clothes ready to be worn, her servant—the sinister Mrs. Wolfram—still loyal. And as an eerie presentiment of evil tightens around her heart, Buffy begins her search through internal destabilization and a knowledge that haunts her with every wake: she can never be Drusilla.

The Other Side of Midnight

In the months following the destruction of Sunnydale, Buffy cuts herself off from her friends and resumes life the only way she knows how: fighting evil. It’s only a matter of time before her past catches up with her, and brings about the man she lost and loved too late…only he doesn’t recognize her face.

The Writing on the Wall

There was no body to bury. There was no funeral. There was nothing but the three rules and the knowledge that a thousand years of torment was nothing compared to a world without her in it. Spike embarks on a journey through the Gates of Hell to rescue the one he loves, but in order to save her, he must risk losing himself.

Finding the Way Home

Buffy doesn’t feel quite right after the gang goes to L.A. for rest and relaxation. This story takes place after the series finale of BtVS and continues Buffy and Spike’s story after the short piece, Finding the Way Home (the Prologue in this story).
