Nocturnal Light was first conceived about 2003 or 2004 as a place for me showcase some of my Ghost of the Robot and James Marsters photography. Those were some days. But eventually it morphed into a pretty cool Spike/Buffy fanfiction archive, featuring my own hand-written code and custom database. I was very proud of it.
Nocturnal Light inadvertently went offline a few years ago (I forgot to move the domain), but it was on my eternal to-do list, right along with planting my own vegetable garden. Thanks to COVID-19 and a reduced-hours work schedule, I suddenly found myself with some time on my hands. For the sake of my sanity, I did not try to re-learn PHP and fix the broken aspects of the website. Rather, I am using WordPress to power the site, which was something that I had wanted to do for the longest.
The Fanfic Archive
Nocturnal Light was previously home to over one thousand stories by a myriad of writers who were active from about 2002 to 2012 or so. At some point over the course of the years, NL adopted the stories originally archived by Mandi at Vampire’s Kiss which will also be added here. All authors published here had previously provided permission to have their stories archived.
I realize times have changed and some authors may have left fandom, taken down some of their stories or even their entire libraries. If you are an author whose stories are archived here and would prefer to have them removed, please feel free to contact me.
My goal is to have all the stories once again available on this website, author by author. This may take some time, but I hope you enjoy reading the stories that are and will be available here.
