Chapter 11
William had a girl in his bedroom.
Not only that, but she’d slept in his bedroom. Next to him. For the whole night! He still couldn’t get over it. His bed was far too small, which meant that Buffy had to practically sleep on top of him. He wasn’t complaining about that, not when she fit against him so perfectly and kept him warm and smelled so nice. Her head was tucked beneath his chin, her hair fanned out over his shoulder, and her body wrapped around his as if she had always been meant to lie that way. He wanted to touch her, especially her bare leg that was in quite a tantalizing position over his crotch, but he didn’t.
He promised.
So he squeezed her waist and kissed her forehead, smiling when she made a little noise in her sleep.
He’d been up for an hour now. William didn’t dare move to wake her, wanting to bask in their closeness for as long as he could. But he had to pee. God, he had to pee so badly that every time he closed his eyes, all he could think about were images of waterfalls and people turning on garden hoses at full blast. He was torturing himself by waiting, he knew, but she was so perfectly girly and soft and in his bed and he hated the thought of waking her.
But nature was screaming at him now, so he reluctantly slid out from beneath her and quietly tiptoed to the door. She mumbled something incoherent and snuggled into the pillows when he went outside into the hall, and he smiled as he closed the door. He hurried to the bathrooms, sighing in relief once he’d unzipped his jeans and saddled up to the head. It was only after he opened his eyes once more that he noticed Wesley a few latrines down, looking disheveled and groggy.
“What’s up?” William said sleepily, yawning a bit.
Wesley smiled to himself, but both men were decent enough to keep their eyes forward while they took a piss. “Oh, just a bit tired,” he said.
“Yeah?”
“Mmhmm.” Wesley buttoned the flap on his pajama pants once he was done and walked over to the sink adjacent to the latrines to wash his hands. “Had a late night.”
William could tell that Wesley was up to something, or at least baiting him for a Q&A. He finished up at the free-standing toilet, zipped, and joined him at the sinks, giving him a good once over. Two things about Wesley that were never out of place, no matter the time of day: his locks and his glasses. William noticed that the former was a bit mussed and the latter were mysteriously missing.
“Something happen?” he finally asked, shaking off his wet hands before reaching for the paper towels.
Wesley gave him a smug grin, sniffed sharply, and puffed out his chest. “You’ll have to ask the lady in my room.” He cleared his throat, dried his hands, and walked past William, whistling, as he made his way to the door.
“You dog!” William said, chuckling. “Who?”
Wesley paused dramatically, placing one hand flat on the door, and turned his head slowly to speak to him over his shoulder. “The lady Cordelia and her…clever hands. It seems the key to her heart was a nice dinner and a promise of taking her shopping this afternoon. Perhaps you should try it with Buffy.” He laughed haughtily to himself and sighed. “Good day, William.” Whistling once more, he exited the bathrooms.
William shook his head and rolled his eyes, smiling in disbelief. Wesley was trying to one-up him with Cordelia. Well, good for him, William thought. Wesley could believe whatever he wished if it made him feel better. He had no interest in the one-sided competition that Wesley was running. Those things never worked out well. So he’d let him think he was on top of his game. No harm in that, really. Though it was a little corny, William figured he’d always be the winner as long as he had Buffy.
“I’m such a git,” he said to himself.
William tossed his used up paper towel in the trash and ran his hands through his hair, yawning again, as he inspected his reflection in the mirror. As soon as he’d turned to leave, Andrew angrily pushed the door open and stomped past him. Frowning, William turned around and watched as Andrew walked into a stall, slammed the door closed and locked it.
“Andrew?”
“Just shut your big mouth! I don’t want to hear about Buffy and your sexcapades! And Wesley can go to Vagra II for all I care!” he said through the door.
William sighed. “Andrew, what’s wrong?”
“Only everything!”
“Are you crying?” William asked cautiously when he heard a sniffling noise through the door.
“No. I’m just…I have a cold or something. Go away!”
William rapped on the door. “I’m not going anywhere until you tell me what the hell is wrong.”
There was a long pause of silence and William was starting to get irritated as he weighed his options. He had a hot girl in his bedroom, one he planned on waking up with kisses very soon, but one of his best friends was obviously upset about something. He was torn between the two but if Andrew continued to drag this out, he was just going to leave. He didn’t have time for his temper tantrums.
“I tried to hang out with Wesley last night after we terminated the Terminator,” he finally said, his voice thick with emotion. Normally when Andrew was upset, it was overly dramatic and geared towards making you feel awful about yourself until he got his way. But this was different. Andrew was actually upset enough to cry. It was enough to make William calm down a bit and listen. He folded his arms over his chest and leaned against the wall by the stall door.
“What happened?”
“He and that cheerleader with the big knockers were in the hallway and I was on my way to my dorm so I stopped and tried to say hello.” He sniffled. “And…he kept giving me the eyes, you know? The leave-me-alone eyes. Like I was a nuisance or something. And you were with Buffy so I couldn’t hang out with you and both of you guys have someone and you’ll forget all about me!”
“That’s not true. What about yesterday? All three of us hung out.”
“Yeah, and soon it’ll just be out of pity! You’ll hang out with me out of obligation, not because you want to.”
“Andrew,” William said, sighing. “You’ve been my best friend for a long time. I won’t ever forget about that. And you’ll find someone, I know you will. Wesley is just…kind of a prick when good things happen to him. Don’t let it get to you.”
“I hit on a lesbian last night,” he said softly.
William barked a laugh. “Well, your heart was in the right place.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Andrew opened the door, scowling at William.
“Andrew. I know you’re gay. It’s all right.”
Andrew blinked rapidly, his mouth opening and closing in shock. “I…I’m not…”
“Andrew,” William said slowly, tilting his head knowingly. “Come on, man.”
“I like girls.” He said this with his face scrunched up as if he didn’t really believe it.
William pushed himself off the wall and shoved his hands in his pockets. “All right, I won’t press it. But when you’re ready to admit it…I’ll be there.”
“I’m not gay,” Andrew said, lifting his chin.
William raised his hands in submission, nodding. “Whatever you say.” He slowly walked towards the door, knowing that Andrew was watching. Then very quickly, he spun around and shouted, “Vagina-boobies-pussy!”
“Ew-oh!” Andrew gasped, covering his mouth in shock at his instinctive reaction. William smiled knowingly and Andrew stared back in horror. “Oh my God.”
“Hey look, the world didn’t stop spinning.” William smiled warmly and walked backwards to the door. “And I’m still your friend.”
Andrew’s chin quivered a bit, but he remained cool. “Don’t…don’t say anything, ok?”
“Don’t say what?” He winked and exited the bathroom.

Andrew watched the door close behind his best friend, letting everything sink in. It was a strange feeling that washed over him, a mixture of relief and horror, of deliverance and fear. His body was tingling with a newfound realization, something he’d always known but suppressed out of anxiety and dread for what his friends and family might think of him. And William had known. How long had he known? William knew and he had still been his friend. He didn’t turn his back on him, didn’t act differently around him. Maybe he could…
“I’m gay,” he said softly to himself, letting the words float around in the ether to see if anything awful might happen. He smiled. “I’m gay! Oh my God, I have to get new costumes for the comic con now! I’m totally fucking gay!”
Amid his excited rant, he hadn’t realized until just then that the bathroom door swung open and a very short man entered, staring at him awkwardly. “C-congratulations?”
Andrew gulped and lifted his chin slightly, bracing himself in case this turned into something ugly. “Thank you?”
“I’m Jonathon.” He shifted nervously in front of him, hoisting his bag filled with shower supplies over his shoulder. “You’re the one with all the cool spy stuff, huh?”
“Yeah…how’d you…”
Jonathon fidgeted with the strap on his bag. “Look, I’m not a stalker, ok? It’s just that I noticed you were using analog sound devices when you really should consider converting to digital, especially if you’re going to use Neumann microphones to detect sound through hard surfaces.”
Andrew blinked in shock. He knew about his hobby? Knew about it well enough to actually offer an opinion about the devices he used? Who was this man and where had he been all his life?
“I don’t always use analog. I have the BEE-100 bionic ear for digital recording, but that’s only if I plan on being in close proximity.”
“You have a BEE-100? Which model?”
“It’s a PE-BE1, but I altered its omni-directional microphone to pick up close to 80 decibels of sound,” Andrew said casually, inspecting his nails.
“Of course,” Jonathon said quietly, as if he hadn’t thought of that. “Can I…well, would you mind if I looked at it?”
“Sure,” Andrew said, smiling with barely contained excitement. “I’m in room 346. Come by when you’re done with your shower.”
Jonathon smiled shyly. “Ok, I will, um…Andrew, right?”
His smile grew, flattered that he wasn’t just some nobody, that someone had known who he was. “Yeah. Sorry, forgot to introduce myself.”
“It’s ok. I, uh…well, I know who you are.” His cheeks reddened. “You’re kind of a god among the geeks. You and your friends…Wesley and William?”
“We are?”
“Yeah. You guys are always doing cool stuff together. I wanted to meet you for a long time but…I was afraid you’d think I was a loser.”
“Yeah, right. You should see what a loser I am. Just this morning I was painting cleric figurines for a game of D&D.”
“Oh wow,” Jonathon said with an awed grin, “you do that, too?”
Andrew had good reason to believe that this Jonathon fellow and he were going to get along very, very well.
* * *
Buffy knew that she shouldn’t worry. William had kept to himself just as he promised. He’d been completely sweet and perfect until they finally fell asleep, and had admitted how much he liked her in a way that was too adorable for words. And she really had to use all her strength to resist him when he’d gotten fresh with her. If he’d uttered a four-syllable word, however, her panties would have been down her ankles faster than a whore in a limo. She was starting to really like this guy and it seemed that he felt the same way.
So she shouldn’t be worrying.
It’s just that everything was so new between them. It was especially new for him, since he had never been with anyone but Buffy, a thought that only highlighted her worry when they entered the dining hall for lunch.
As soon as one girl spotted William, three spotted him, then four, and suddenly, a mass of girls were all around them, asking about how he’d duped Parker and how cool he was and where did he like to hang out and did he have a girlfriend? There were so many of them vying for his attention that they’d shoved Buffy out of the way, leaving her to stand awkwardly to the side as she watched the display.
“You’re so cute,” one girl said, batting her eyelashes.
“I saw him first,” another said, pouting.
For his part, William looked particularly uncomfortable. His face was red and he was stammering, scratching his temple and unable to keep eye contact. Buffy had never felt pangs of jealousy quite like this before. Sure, she’d seen Parker with girls and it bothered her because he’d tricked her, but she wasn’t jealous of them. She was angry with him.
But now, now was completely different. She knew that William was inexperienced and nervous around her, unused to attention from other women. She didn’t like it, didn’t like seeing him smile and blush from the compliments given him, not when she thought it to be an endearing trait he’d only shared with her. It was silly, she knew, but she didn’t want these girls to find out what a catch he was. Not when she’d finally caught a good one.
“I’m s-sure that you’re very…t-talented,” he said, clearing his throat after one girl whispered something in his ear.
That was the last straw! With a frustrated growl, she pushed her way through the girls, grabbed his hand, and yanked him out of the dining hall. The girls protested, a few called her a bitch, and William simply gulped as she dragged him outside.
She stopped halfway down the sidewalk and spun around to face him. His eyes were wide in surprise, his chest heaving from the speed with which she’d tugged him down the steps and out into the courtyard. She didn’t quite know what to say in her defense for her barbaric act of laying claim to him.
She sighed sharply and folded her arms as she started to rant. “Look, I’m not your keeper or anything but I really like you and if we’re going to be an item or whatever, I need to know now. Right now. Because I’m not doing this casual thing where I think it’s serious and you start dating other people because you’re not really into it or whatever because I am so done with that. So, if you want to date other girls, that’s fine, I just want to know so I don’t get my hopes up in thinking we’re something that we’re not.” She exhaled and looked up at him. “Ok?”
He smiled slyly at her, tucked his hands in his pockets and took a step forward. “It’s like you crawl into my brain and pick out all the favorite parts of my fantasies and then say them out loud.”
She lowered her head shyly, embarrassed for her outburst and yet she was overjoyed at how easily he’d taken it, deflating her rage in an instant with his sweet proclamation.
“I’m sorry I got all cave girl on you.”
“I’m not.” He curled his fingers into her belt loops and pulled her forward. “And for the record, I don’t want to date other people.”
She felt her heart do that jumping thing again when he brought her close and slid his arms around her waist. “You don’t?”
He shook his head slowly, smiling as she pressed against him. “I’m a one girl kinda guy. It’s flattering,” he said, tilting his head back towards the dining hall, “but that’s all.”
“What did that girl whisper to you?” she asked with narrowed eyes.
“You don’t want to know.” He kissed her forehead.
“Yes, I do.”
He sighed, straining his neck as he looked up at the trees. “She said that she could show me things.”
“That’s not what she said.”
“Oh, you know what she said, do you?” He bit his lip in mirth, trailing his hands up her back.
“That was the PG-version. Tell me what she said.”
“Why do you want to know? It doesn’t matter. Her breath smelled like pennies and stale sourdough bread.”
Buffy giggled, wrapping her arms around his neck. “I just want to know what sort of competition I’m up against.”
“Are you done fishing for compliments?” He beamed at her when she huffed.
“I am not fishing for—mmmm.” She forgot what she was going to say when he kissed her. He was getting much better at it, too, and he wasn’t bad to begin with. But if he continued to make those little growly noises while his teeth tugged on her bottom lip, she was going to start moaning. And if she started moaning, he’d get grabby and then he’d soon be feeling the sensation of grass on his back when she pushed him to the ground in the middle of the courtyard to hump the daylights out of him.
Apparently, her suspicions weren’t far off, except that she was the one on her back and William was amorously moving over her, kissing her throat and making her eyes roll into the back of her head. Good God, how did that happen so fast?
“Will,” she said with a sexy giggle, squeezing his waist with her thighs. “People are watching.”
“You don’t care about that,” he said huskily, kissing her throat, “do you?”
“No.” She moaned when he thrust gently against her. God, had she really told him to take it slow just the night before? She didn’t know if she was upset or grateful that he couldn’t control himself. Grateful, she decided. His lips latched onto her neck right behind the ear and he hummed softly. So grateful!
“But if you keep…ohhh…if you keep doing that we’ll be crossing over into indecent exposure.”
His head whipped away from her neck to look her in the eyes and she gasped at the expression on his face. His blue eyes had darkened, his jaw was twitching and his shaky breath wafted over her. She swallowed, waiting for him to say something, kiss her, do anything other than look at her that way. She felt naked. Deliciously exposed.
He looked at her a second longer and she licked her lips, waiting, wanting, holy hell how did he work her up with only a kiss and a look?
“Race you to my room.”
And then he was gone. She smiled at the trees above her before she rolled onto her side, stood up, and ran as fast as she could after him.
* * *
He beat her to his room, but not by much. As soon as she entered, he grabbed her by the waist, kicked the door closed and fused his lips with hers. He didn’t give her a second to hesitate before her shirt was yanked up and off of her and his mouth was on hers again, his hands lifting her up off the ground and walking them to the bed.
She gasped when her back landed on the mattress and her bra disappeared. She raked her nails into his hair, her eyes rolling closed as his lips trailed a path of open-mouthed kisses down her sternum. When his tongue twirled around her nipple and he moaned…fuck…she threw her hands up above her head in submission.
“Teah…” she moaned, hissing when his teeth gently pulled on her nipple and his fingers slid down her stomach.
“God, you’re hot, Buffy.” His voice was thick and raspy. She couldn’t answer, couldn’t do anything but look at him.
She couldn’t say a word, not when he was sitting between her legs on his knees, focusing his eyes intently on her breasts as he took each one in his hands and flicked his thumbs over her hardened nipples. She started panting, reaching above her to grab the brass bars on the headboard. She just needed to grab something and he was currently too far away.
“I know you want to…go slow,” he said, swallowing, his tongue pressing hard against his upper lip. “But fuck, I need…” He didn’t complete that sentence; instead, he buried his head between her thighs. Even through a layer of denim and panties, she could feel his hot breath, his teeth digging into her. He was biting her. There.
“Oh God!” she shouted, both in shock from his animalistic want for her and from the pleasure it was giving her.
He lifted his head and removed his glasses, locking his eyes with hers. “I’m sorry. But you’re going to have to get naked now.”
Her hands fumbled with the clasp on her jeans as she hurried to undo it, breathing shallowly, and finally she got them unzipped—stupid Brazilian designer jeans!—but couldn’t get them down her hips fast enough. He was watching her. Smiling wickedly as if he knew how badly she wanted him. She didn’t care, though. Because he was right.
“Help me,” she said. Then she gasped when he hooked his hands on the waistband and yanked her tight jeans and her panties down her legs.
“Ohh,” he said appreciatively as his eyes roamed over her. Then his hands slid down her hips to her thighs before he spread them, letting his fingers tease the edge of her pussy right where she wanted him. Her nipples were still wet from his saliva, now cool from the air, and he was perched between her legs. He was driving her insane, making her completely aware of every part of her that was exposed.
Yet William hadn’t removed a stitch of clothing, still wearing his plain white tee and blue jeans. That hardly seemed fair.
“Oh my God,” she whimpered when she felt his mouth a centimeter from her clit and she looked down at him, to find him smiling at her.
“This is the last time I’m a gentleman,” he said. “So, yes or no, Buffy?”
Her hands were gripping the bars again, her chest constricting with every shallow breath. “Yes.”
Then his tongue was sliding over her and his fingers were inside her pussy and her back arched jerkily off the bed. “God, yes!”
“Voluptuous,” he uttered, sucking her folds between his lips.
She would cry if she had the strength. All she could do was moan at the moment.
“Succulent.” His mouth latched onto her clit and her eyes closed. “Scrumptious pussy.”
She was going to come if he kept talking to her like that. And dammit, now his fingers were working her into a stupor while his mouth paused to nip at the flexing tendon on her inner thigh. She hissed in satisfaction and he did it to the other one, sliding his fingers in and out of her.
“You’re one callipygian woman, Buffy.”
“I’m…what?”
“It means,” he said, smiling at her, fucking her with his fingers, “that you have very finely proportioned buttocks.” He gave one globe a firm squeeze, chuckling into her pussy when she gasped.
God, she might be in love with him. He was quite the cunning linguist.
“I could do this all day,” he said, before she heard him inhale sharply. She watched him as he stared at her, observing his own fingers as they moved inside her. She didn’t know what was turning her on more: what he was doing or the fact that he was so into what he was doing. Then he licked his lips and leaned forward again, but he kissed her there, sweetly, letting out a little grumbling noise of appreciation.
She moaned at the feel of his tongue when he circled her clit, the slow and steady pace of his fingers, and then he was reciting poetry about her pussy, flicking his tongue over her, adjusting his body so that he could devour her at the angle he wanted.
“Yes-yes-yes!”
“Oh, your voice is mellifluous,” he murmured. “Tell me again.”
“Hohgod!” She was going to come. “No, you tell me!”
He chuckled, but did as she asked, making sure to enunciate every syllable when he said, “My concupiscence has reached a viperous level.”
Buffy had never wailed so loud in her life and William licked and sucked up every drop when she came.
