Summary: A rampaging demon sends Buffy down south, where she finds help from a most unexpected source.
Author's Notes: I have had more fun writing this than anything in quite a long time, and I can’t wait to see what you guys think. It’s dedicated my best friend in the world, Kimmie, without whom the story would not exist. My thanks to her, Megan, EB, Mari, and Tami for betaing this.Timeline: Following Graduation Part II. Summer before Season 4
This story is complete.

Chapter Notes: A little, however important disclaimer: I based a character in this chapter, Franklin, off a man I met in Natchez. I do not intend to paint him as a caricature…his dictions, accent, even the scenario he describes are EXACTLY as the man I met. I merely wished to take an especially mortifying/hilarious incident that happened at Oak Hill (as some of you have guessed, it’s a real place…and “Daniel” is based on its real owner) during breakfast. I mean no offense to anyone, and am in no way a racist. Please just take Franklin as a character and not a social comment, and understand he would not be in the chapter had I not met the man off which he’s based in real life. In a conversation following breakfast, “Daniel” told me and Kimmie he was surprised, “Grandma hadn’t fallen out of her chair!” You’ll know the line when you read it.
My thanks again to my betas.

Chapter Notes: Hi everyone.
I know it’s been a long time since I updated, but I promise, not by design. This isn’t a matter of me not having the drive or the inclination to write, nor is it because I was working on something else, be it Spuffy or for a different fandom. As of May 10, I no longer had a computer. The craptastic computer I had purchased to replace my Dell was in the mail, and theoretically, my brand new computer was on its way and would be in my loving arms within two weeks.
This, needless to say, was not the case. Two weeks came and went, and I received a notification via email instead. A delay in shipping, and a new estimated date by which to expect my Dell.
Two weeks passed, and the cycle repeated itself.
I’ve been quarreling with Dell via limited time on friends’ computers, as well as the few minutes I can steal between work and my summer course on campus. The situation has not bettered itself. Rather, the new projected ship date on my laptop is…July 21.
That’s right. A computer I ordered on MAY 14 is now expected to ship to me by July. A good 2.5 months between purchase date and arrival…and that’s only if I don’t get another delay notification.
My best friend, Kimmie, loaned me her personal laptop for the weekend, as she’s on vacation. During this time I hope to get as much writing done as possible…but if I disappear again without updates, please know it’s not by choice. I’ve wanted to write so badly for such a long time, and while it’s possible by longhand, the speed is not the same. I will return with new updates and a story I’ve wanted to write since last October, as well as the conclusion of Southern Comfort and more Strawberry Fields as soon as possible. I miss this like nothing else.
In the meantime, here’s part 5 of Southern Comfort. I’ll work on Part 6 over the weekend.
Thanks for reading,
